Myrna Wagner, age 66, of Ridgeway, IA, died Friday, December 1, 2006, at her home after a courageous battle against cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday December 4, 2006 at 11:00 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church by Rev. Donald Hawes burial will be in the church cemetery .

Visitation will be on Sunday December 3, 2006 from 3:00 – 8:00 at the Balik Funeral Home in Spillville and after 10:00 at the church on Monday.

Myrna Catherine (Sullivan) Wagner was born on November 21, 1940 in Elma, Iowa. She was the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Kohles) Sullivan.

Myrna was raised on a farm outside of Elma where she graduated from Immaculate Conception High School. After graduation she worked as a Nurses Aide at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN in the polio ward. She later moved to Waterloo, IA and attended Young's School of Beauty where she earned her Cosmetology Diploma. In 1964, Myrna married Robert (Bob) Corrick of Elma, IA. They had two children together, Brenda and Brett.

Myrna, Brenda and Brett moved to Cedar Falls in 1980, where Myrna worked at the University of Northern Iowa.

Myrna married Calvin (Rick) Wagner on December 22, 1984 in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, IA. She then attended NITI and obtained a Business Management-Computer Technology Degree. Together they farmed until 2001, when they moved to Ridgeway. Myrna and Rick enjoyed dancing, maintaining the yard, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband: Calvin (Rick) Wagner, Ridgeway, IA. Children: Brenda (Ivan) Hackman, Roberts, WI; Brett Corrick, Urbandale, IA. Grandchildren: Katelyn Elizabeth, Michala Rose and Wyatt Joseph Hackman, Roberts, WI. Sisters: Shirley (McGrane) Daleske, Eldora, IA; JoAnn Bork, Des Moines, IA; Charlene (John) Tull, Lacey, WA; Connie (Garry) Kraninger, Independence, IA and Nancy (Tim) Gibbons, Mason City, IA. Four brother-in-laws: Darrell (JoAnn) Wagner of Calmar, IA; Jim (Nancy) Wagner of Cedar Rapids, IA; Randy (Cheryl) Wagner of Ft. Atkinson, IA and Denis Reicks of Cresco, IA. Two sister-in-laws: Jeanne (Konnie) Verlsteffen of Coral Springs, FL and Janice Balk of Waucoma, IA. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Helen Sullivan; Father and Mother-in-law Edward and Gladys Wagner; Brother-in-laws: Helmut Bork, Earl McGrane, Elvin Daleske and Mark Balk; Sister-in-law Judy Riecks.

Myrna's greatest joy in life was her family. She always said that her family was what kept her going in life. Her grandchildren Katelyn, Michala and Wyatt especially brought her tremendous happiness. She enjoyed genealogy, baking cookies, photography, crocheting, watching TV and visiting with family and friends.
