Anne H. Tebbenhoff, age 98, of Decorah, Iowa and formerly of Downsville, NY, died Monday, April 17, 2006 at the Barthell Eastern Star Home in Decorah.

A memorial mass will be held at a later date at Holy Family Catholic Church in Downsville, NY, with inurnment in the family plot in Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood, NJ. There will be no visitation. Fjelstul Funeral Home of Decorah, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.

Anne Holley Tebbenhoff was born August 17, 1907 in Suffern, New York, the daughter of Henry and Sarah (Holley) Behrens. She was a graduate of Mount St. Vincent High School in New York State and attended business college in Suffern.

She was united in marriage to Edward H. Tebbenhoff on June 21, 1948 in Suffern, NY. To this union, one son was born: Edward.

Prior to her marriage, Anne worked as a secretary for a county supervisor in Rockland County, New York. She was a founding member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Downsville, NY and a founding member of the Downsville Woman’s Club. Anne taught First Communion Catechism at Holy Family Parish for many years.

Anne moved to Decorah in 2003 to be near her family. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Decorah and enjoyed following the daily news and political issues. Anne was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Godmother. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her son, Edward Tebbenhoff and his wife, Carol, of Decorah; a granddaughter, Claire Tebbenhoff of Decorah and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Henry Behrens

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to benefit the Barthell Eastern Star Home, 911 Ridgewood Drive, Decorah, Iowa 52101.
