Funeral services for Donald B. Bush, Calmar, were held March 19 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Calmar. Monsignor G. V. Steiert of St. Aloysius and Father Rev. Ambrose McAvoy of St. Bridget Catholic Church, Postville, concelebrated the mass.
Bush, a resident of Calmar since 1953, died Tuesday, March 16 in the Winneshiek County Hospital at Decorah where he had been a patient since March 12. He was 64 years of age and had been in poor health for the last 16 months.
The St. Aloysius Church choir was directed by organist Felicia Rothmeyer. Lector was Richard Hosper and offertory was by granddaughters Joanne and Michelle Bush.
Interment will be held April 17 at Phelps Cemetery, Decorah.
Bush was born January 27, 1918 in Postville to A. W. and Irene (Sheehy) Bush. He graduated from Postville High School in 1935 and was employed for 45 years by the Milwaukee Railroad as a station agent until his retirement May 27, 1980.
On July 4, 1939 he married Alice Wells. Before moving to Calmar in 1953 they made their home in Emmetsburg and Algona, Iowa.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Thomas, of Schaumburg, Ill., one brother, Jack Bush of LaHabra, Calif. and 3 grandchildren, Joanne, Michelle and Scott Bush, as well as one niece, one nephew and several cousins.
Bush was a member of the Elks Lodge at Decorah, South Winn. Golf and Country Club of Calmar, as well as a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Relatives attended the funeral from California, Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, and several surrounding communities.
