Pauline Dolores (Quirk) Procter of Decorah, Iowa passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday, March 26, 2012 at age 86.5.
She was born September 26, 1925 to Nicholas and Claire (Flynn) Quirk in Chicago, Illinois. She was a beloved mother and homemaker.
She attended Saint Scholastica High School in Chicago, Illinois.
Pauline is survived by her husband Robert of 63 years, and four loving children; Ken (Ruth) Procter, Kevin (Lorraine) Procter, Mark (Laura) Procter, Laura (Steve) Warner. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Leimetter, 11 grandkids, 3 great grandkids and many nieces and nephews.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Bobby who greeted her with loving arms at the entrance of her eternal resting place.
She married the love of her life, Robert J. Procter on June 5, 1948. They lived together and raised their family in Northbrook, Illinois. In 1997 shortly after retirement, Robert and Pauline moved to Decorah, Iowa where they thoroughly enjoyed a new chapter of their life together.
Pauline was a voracious reader. She could often be found outdoors sitting on her favorite chair reading her Harlequin Romance novels or completing crossword puzzles while enjoying a cigarette. She also enjoyed their membership at the country club and all the social activities they participated in throughout the years.
She will surely be missed by those who were fortunate to have known her. Private services were held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be donated in her memory to Saint Benedict Catholic Church or the Oneota Golf Course Tree Fund.
A celebration of life for Bob and Pauline Procter of Decorah will be held on Friday, April 20th at Oneota Golf & Country Club. Please join the family from 5-7 PM to remember them at their favorite Friday night gathering place.
