Olga B. Omdahl, age 86, of Roseville, MN and formerly of Decorah, IA, died Sunday, January 1, 2006 at Good Samaritan Center in Roseville following a long illness.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 6, 2006 at Decorah Lutheran Church by Rev. James Glesne, with burial in Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery in rural Decorah.

Friends may call on Thursday, January 5, 2006 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah and on Friday after 10:00 AM at the Church.

Olga Beatrice (Kelley) Omdahl was born October 30, 1919 in Decorah, IA, the daughter of William A. and Tilda O. (Bringsjord) Branhagen. She was baptized on November 30, 1919 at home and confirmed on June 21, 1936 at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church. She attended the Red Oak School in Springfield Township, Winneshiek County.

Olga and her family lived in Decorah, and then moved to the Branhagen farm near Nordness, Iowa. In 1943 she moved to Los Angeles, CA, where she worked for Lockheed Aircraft. While in Los Angeles she met her husband, Earl Gordon Kelley, of Eldorado, OH, who was in the Army at the time. They were united in marriage on March 16, 1946. To this union two children were born: Elaine and Steven.

When Earl was discharged from the Army they moved to Indiana where Earl worked for International Harvestor. On June 6, 1959 Earl was killed in an automobile accident. In 1965 Olga moved back to Decorah to care for her parents. She worked at Luther College as a cook in the cafeteria. She retired from Luther College in 1985 after 20 years of service. She had fond memories of her time at Luther College and cherished the friends she made there.

Olga married her second husband, Edward Omdahl of Decorah, IA on March 10, 1979, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Edward retired as an accountant with the US Postal Service.

Olga was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church and was very active in Circle. She loved playing golf at Silvercrest Golf and Country Club and bowling. She and Edward loved to travel with Kathy & Marshall and even took a trip to Norway.

Olga became a resident of the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah in 2002. She moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Roseville, Minnesota in February 2004. She died there on Sunday, January 1, 2006 at the age of 86 years.

Olga was preceded in death by her parents; her second husband, Edward on January 26, 1991; her first husband, Earl on June 6, 1959; and her twin brother, Willard Branhagen on November 11, 2002.

She is survived by her children, Elaine Kelley of Blaine, MN, and Steven (Mary Jo) Kelley of Andover, MN; her stepchildren, Howard (Sharon) Omdahl of Algona, IA, and Kathy (Marshall) Ronningen of Lake Havasu City, AZ; her grandchildren, Tiffany Kelley, Kimberly Kelley and John Kelley; her step-grandchildren: Kristin, Karl, Katie and Keara Omdahl, and Jamie, Jill, Joe, John and Jenne Ronningen; her 3 brothers: Arthur Branhagen of Decorah, IA, Henry (Connie) Branhagen of Waterloo, IA, and Les (Ruth) Branhagen of Decorah, IA.; five sisters-in-law, Shirley Staubs of Glendale, CA., Patty Bechtol of Eaton, OH, Carolyn Powelson, Eaton, OH, Frances Manning, Eaton, OH, and Norma Ross of Eaton, OH, and a brother-in-law, Ernie Kelley of Aurora, IL.
