Lillian J. Larsen, age 103, died early Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at the Aase Haugen Homne in Decorah following a long illness.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the Aase Haugen Home Chapel in Decorah by Rev. James Glesne, Pastor of Decorah Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah.

Friends may call from 12:30 P.M. until the services on Wednesday at the Aase Haugen Home Chapel.

Fjelstul Funeral Home of Decorah is in charge of the arrangements.

Lillian Jeanette (Digre) Larsen was born April 12, 1903 in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of Sivert H. and Anna L. (Johnson) Digre. She was baptized April 16, 1903 and confirmed June 14, 1917 by Rev. O. Glesne at Decorah Lutheran Church. Lillian graduated from Decorah High School with the Class of 1921 and in the fall of that year attended and completed the commercial course at Valders Business College in Decorah.

Lillian was united in marriage to Einar O. “Doc” Larsen on December 24, 1928 at her parent’s home in Decorah.

Lillian was the secretary to Ray Algyer, Vice President of Winneshiek County State Bank from 1922-1928. Following their marriage, She and Einar relocated to Chicago, IL where they made their home. During that time, Lillian worked as an executive secretary for several businesses. Einar died on March 20, 1953. Lillian continued to live in Chicago until her retirement in 1971, when she returned to Decorah.

Lillian became a resident of the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah on December 23, 1996. She died at the Home early Tuesday, July 25, 2006 following a long illness, at the age of 103.

There are no immediate survivors.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Einar on March 20, 1953 and a brother, Arnold Digre.
