Nolan Bruce Koch was born silently into the world at 6:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 5, 2010. Nolan was the first child of Clint and Kari Koch, of Decorah. Reverend John Caldwell performed a special baptism for Nolan in the hospital. A private graveside service was held on Saturday, August 7th in Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton, IA, where Nolan was laid to rest peacefully with his Grandpa Bruce.

Nolan is survived by grandparents Mark and Nancy Ruen of Decorah, and Cindy Koch and Tom Vine also of Decorah. He is also survived several aunts and uncles, including Erica (Peter) Lea of Decorah; Matt (Becky) Koch of Cedar Rapids; Mike (Dawn) Koch of Cresco; Chris (Jenn) Koch of Decorah; Sandy Hahn of West Bend, WI; and Jenny (Chavez) Grace also of West Bend, WI. Nolan also had many cousins anxiously awaiting his arrival; they are Kirsten, Elizabeth, Lane, Madyson, Tiffany, Breanna, Cierra, Jordan, Kasey, Booker, Andrea, Devon, Alex, and Chavez Jr. Nolan is also survived by his great grandmother, Ruth McClintock, and his great grandfather, Otto Ruen, both of Decorah. Nolan is also survived by many special great aunts and uncles, his loving extended family, as well as many great friends.

Nolan was welcomed to Heaven by his grandfather Bruce Koch who passed away in November of 1991. Also welcoming him were his great grandparents, Sidney McClintock, Laila Ruen, Clinton and Margaret Koch, and Vivian and Gerald Lawonn. He also has a special great aunt in Heaven, Virlis McClintock.
