Ida Margaret (Oyloe) Ingram was born on February 20, 1913, the daughter of Ole and Ingeborg (Sondrol) Oyloe on the Oyloe family farm in Springfield Township, rural Decorah, Iowa. Ida was baptized on March 23, 1913 and confirmed in 1927 at Springfield Lutheran Church. Ida attended the Nerlie Country School #5 and graduated from the eighth grade in 1927. Following graduation, she boarded with a woman in Decorah who taught her sewing and dress making, the skills of which she used throughout her life. She was also a waitress at the Model Restaurant in Decorah, which allowed her to save enough money to visit family in Seattle in 1930 at the age of 17. It was there that she met Fordyce Taylor Ingram, and they were married on March 31, 1934. Their first child, Ida Mae, was born August 15, 1935. She died at birth. Richard Lewis was born on December 31, 1936. Ida was a homemaker, wonderful cook, and seamstress and stitched beautiful needlepoint items. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards with “The Queens”, traveling, dancing, bowling, watching Hawkeye basketball, singing in the church choir at Denny Park Lutheran, and boating with Fordyce on their boats, “Forida” and “Foridatoo”. Most important to Ida were her faith, family, and friends. Ida returned to Decorah in 1989 to join her family and renew old friendships. She entered the Barthell Eastern Star Home in March of 2001. Ida was a member of Springfield Lutheran Church.

Survivors include Ida’s son, Richard and his wife Myrna of Decorah, brothers Carl (Gilma) Oyloe of Decorah and Mel (Norma) Oyloe of Owatonna, MN, and sister-in-law Stella (Orvel) Oyloe of West Union, IA.
