William “Bill” Headington, age 71, of Decorah, Iowa, died on Monday evening, November 23, 2009, at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 27, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Decorah, Iowa, with Rev. Carol Kress and Rev. Wayne Wasta presiding.

There will be no visitation, it was Bill's wishes to be cremated. The family will greet friends following the service. Burial will be in the Russell Cemetery, Decorah, Iowa.

Bill’s survivors include his wife: Brenda Headington, Decorah, IA. One son: Billy Headington, Decorah, IA. Two daughters: Becky Courtney, Decorah, IA and Beth Headington, Decorah, IA. Five grandsons: Jordan & Joseph Courtney and Carter, Dylan & Austin Taylor. His mother: Evelyn Headington, Decorah, IA. One sister: Ellen Halverson, Ridgeway, IA. One brother: Jerry (Diane) Headington, Cedar Falls, IA. His father and mother-in-law: Roland and Geneva Halverson, Decorah, IA. Three brothers-in-law: Douglas Halverson, Boyd (Jan) Halverson and Gary Hovey, all of Decorah, IA. Three aunts: Audrey Wolsdorf, Decorah, IA, Vesta Hicks, Duluth, MN, and Helen Vine, Decorah, IA. Two uncles: Ernest Vine, Anacortes, WA and Vernon (Darlene) Vine, Decorah, IA, along with many nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his father: Gerald Headington in 1979. One sister: Diane Headington in 1968. One sister-in-law: Judy Hovey in 2007. One brother-in-law: Harry Halverson in 2009. His grandparents: Wallace & Martha Headington and Ernest & Christine Vine, along with many aunts and uncles.
