Mrs. Clara Erickson, dies July 26

A Decorah homemaker, Mrs. Clara O. Erickson, 88, died July 26 at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah.

Funeral services where held Monday, July 31 at 10:30 a.m. at the Decorah Lutheran church. Pastor Rolf Brende officiated and Mrs. Otto Ruen was organist. Hymns were sung by the congregation.

Burial was in the Springwater Lutheran cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Ronald Rasmussen, Kenneth Beardmore, Stan Erickson, Harold Erickson, Chester Erickson and Arthur Erickson. Steine's Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Clara O. Ellis was born March 6, 1890 to Ole and Julia Ellis in Pleasant Township. She attended rural schools. On March 30, 1912, she married Harry Erickson in Pleasant Township. He preceded her in death in 1944. She was a member of Decorah Lutheran church and its A.L.C.W. She had lived in Pleasant Township and moved to Decorah in 1945.

They were the parents of two children, both of whom survive; Mrs. Ray (Grace) Rasmussen, Decorah and Hubert Erickson, Omaha. Other survivors include one sister, Mrs. O.H. Valle of Aberdeen, S.D., two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
