Ellingson, Elling O 1864 -1925

Death of Elling O. Ellingson

Elling O. Ellingson, of Canoe township, passed away at his home last Monday morning about 9:30, having been in poor health four or five months, suffering from kidney and heart trouble. The deceased was a son of Ole W. Ellingson and wife and was born in Pleasant township March 23 1864. He was united in marriage in 1895 to Miss Louise Severson. Eight children were born to the union, one passing away in infancy. The wife and mother passed away 13 years ago. The surviving children are Ralph, Adolph, Pearl, Mrs. Harrison Barth, Lloyd, Earl, Myrtle and Mabel. One sister, Mrs. Geo. Barth, of Decorah and seven brothers also survive, Henry, Ole, Albert, Martin, Julius, Marvin and Clarence.

The deceased was a man always held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. He was a good citizen and will be greatly missed by many old friends. To the bereaved children the sympathy of all is extended. The funeral services will be held this afternoon from the Springwater church. Rev. O. Glesne, of Decorah, will officiate and interment will be in the Springwater cemetery.
