Earl J. Ellingson Dies Six Weeks After Marriage

Earl James Ellingson in the beginning of his manhood and married less than seven weeks, died Monday, Aug. 17, 1931,at the Decorah hospital. He was taken sick Friday and was brot to the hospital where an operation was performed on his stomach.

The funeral will be held tomorrow, Thursday, at his home in Canoe twp., at one o'clock and at 1:30 at the Springwater church. Rev. Glesne will officiate.

Earl was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elling O. Ellingson. He was born Sept. 22, 1906, in Canoe twp., attended the Springwater school, and lived all his life in this county. On July 2, this year, at Waukon he married Miss Elsie Nesset of Glenwood twp., who survives. He is survived also by three brothers and three sisters, Ralph, Adolph, Pearl, Lloyd, Myrtle, and Leora. To the bride of less than seven weeks and his sorrowing brothers and sisters the sympathy of many friends is extended.

The deceased was a member of the Lutheran church. His occupation was farming.

Earl Ellingson Dies After Short Illness

Earl James Ellingson, well known and highly respected young Canoe township farmer, 24 years of age, passed away at the Decorah hospital at 1:45 o'clock Monday afternoon, Aug. 17. He had been threshing during the forenoon and was taken suddenly ill during the afternoon and at 11:00 o'clock Friday night was removed to the Decorah hospital, undergoing an operation Sunday evening, a knot having formed in his intestines.

The deceased was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Ellingson of Springwater, Canoe township and was born there Sept. 22 1906, and had lived his entire life on the home farm. He was united in marriage to Miss Elsie Nesset on last July 2, who with three brothers and three sisters survive. They are Ralph, Adolph, Pearl, Decorah; Lloyd, Huntsville, Mo., Myrtle and Leora, Decorah.

Earl was a fine young man, one who enjoyed the respect and high esteem of many friends and his sudden taking is a severe blow to his bereaved wife, brothers and sisters to whom much sympathy is extended.

The remains are resting at the Bensch and Brandt undertaking parlors until Thursday when the funeral will be held at 1:00 o'clock from the home and 1:30 from the Springwater church. Rev. O. Glesne of the United Lutheran church of Decorah will officiate.
