Ole Bue, of Canoe, Passes Away After Brief Illnes

In the passing away of Ole Bue, Winneshiek county loses one of its most respected of pioneer Norwegian settlers. Mr. Bue died at his home in Canoe township last Saturday morning at 3 o'clock, after a brief illness of only a few days from heart trouble. While Mr. Bue had been in poor health for several years past, it was only a few days previous to his death that he was dangerously ill, and during those days he was a great sufferer. He was 80 years old and was born in Hardanger, Norway, coming to this country about 37 years ago. He is survived by one brother in this county, N.N. Quandahl Sr., of this city; and two sons, Nels, living at home and David, in Highland township, and one sister, Mrs. Andrew Neshiem, Canoe township. Also by two sisters back in Norway. Mrs. Bue preceded her husband in death some 6 or 7 years ago. Mr. Bue, like most of his countrymen, was an industrious, hardworking farmer, a good neighbor, a good husband and father. The funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at the Springwater church.
