Funeral services were held yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon for Nels O. Bue, well-known Pleasant township farmer. who died Sunday morning. He had been in failing health for about seventeen years and the last two years had been seriously ill. He suffered from heart trouble and much of the time had to sit up rather than lie in bed because of the intense pain. He spent six weeks in the Decorah hospital this spring and recovered sufficiently to return to his home. His death provides peace from his pain at last.

Funeral services were held from the Fjelstud Funeral Home and from the Springwater church, the Rev. O. Glesne officiating. Burial was in the Springwater cemetery.

Mr. Bue was born in Hardanger, Norway, Nov. 30, 1854, the son of Ole and Christie Bue. He came to America with his parents in 1866, direct to the farm in Canoe township where Mr. Bue lived until 1925 when he moved to Pleasant township.

He was married to Miss Anna Martina Amundson Dec. 7, 1907. They had no children. They lived on the farm in Canoe which he bought from his parents. His wife and several nieces and nephews survive him. He has no living brothers and sisters.

For many years Mr. Bue was clerk of Canoe township and throughout the country he was known for his honesty and ability. A member of the Lutheran church, he was confirmed by Rev. H. A. Stub, and devout in his faith.

Although in ill health for several years, Mr Bue retained his cheerfulness and optimism. All who knew him admired his brave, uncomplaining spirit, and find in his death a mingling of defeat and triumph.
