Arthur F. Brandt

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Frankville Presbyterian Church for Arthur F. Brandt, 74, who passed away at Decorah hospital on May 20. Rev. Thomas Nelson, pastor of the church, officiated and was assisted by Rev. Nielson of Decorah. Burial was in Frankville cemetery.

Arthur F. Brandt, son of William and Maria (Block) Brandt, was born June 28, 1880 in Clayton county and died May 20, 1954 in the Decorah hospital.

In 1893 the family moved to Winneshiek county just west of Frankville. He received his education in the rural schools of Clayton and Winneshiek counties and was confirmed in the Postville Lutheran Church in 1895.

On February 14, 1912 he was married to Miss Esther Snitker at Waukon. The new home was made on a farm one mile west of Frankville where the couple lived until 1952 when they retired and moved to Decorah.

They became the parents of 3 daughters, Alice, Mrs. Donald Bolman, of Waukon; Marion, Mrs. Leslie Laterman, of Frankville; and Jean, Mrs. Wilton Sinning, of Corning.

In 1916 he became a member of the Frankville Presbyterian Church and served as an elder since 1922.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers. He leaves to mourn his widow, 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren, 3 sisters and one brother.
