Bernice G. Espeseth, age 94, of Decorah, Iowa, died Friday, February 29, 2008 at Aase Haugen Home in Decorah following a short illness.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah with Pastor Garry Birth officiating. Burial will be United Lutheran Cemetery in rural Ridgeway, Iowa.

Friends may call after 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, one hour before services, at Fjelstul Funeral Home.

Bernice Geneva Espeseth was born February 2, 1914 at home in Lincoln Township, Winneshiek County, Iowa, the daughter of Edward E. and Clara (Erickson) Espeseth. She attended rural school through the eighth grade.

Bernice worked at the Smith Memorial Hospital in Decorah, in the nursery, from February 1946 to February 1979. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Waukon, Iowa. She and her sister, Violet, loved to sing for different groups and programs for many years. Then most recently they sang in the Aase Haugen Home Choir. Bernice and her sister loved to travel. They made seven trips to Yellowstone National Park and visited many other places. Most of them were driving trips with Violet at the wheel.

She became a resident of Aase Haugen Home on December 5, 2001.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Elmer in infancy; and her sister Violet on October 15, 2003.

Bernice is survived by several cousins.
