Funeral Services For Mrs. Birdsell At Frankville

Margaret Louisa Brandt Birdsell, daughter of William and Maria (Block) Brandt, was born December 18, 1878 in Clayton county, Iowa. She passed away at her home in Frankville on Monday, December 17, 1962, at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 29 days.

Mrs. Birdsell was educated in the rural schools of Clayton and Winneshiek counties. She was confirmed in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church of Postville in 1897. About the turn of the century she moved with her family to a farm west of Frankville.

On September 28, 1898 she was united in marriage to Eugene R. Birdsell. To this union were born 2 sons, Leo and Ralph.

At the time of her marriage she and her husband moved to a farm west of Frankville where she lived until 1926 when they retired from farming and moved to a new home in Frankville. In this home she resided up until the time of her death.

On March 5, 1916 Mrs. Birdsell became a member of the Frankville Presbyterian Church. Until the later years of her life she was active in many of the church activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Surviving her are 2 sons, Leo and Ralph; one sister, Cora of Decorah; one grandson, Donald of Cedar Rapids; 2 great grandchildren, also of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at the Frankville Presbyterian Church on Thursday, December 20, at 1:30 p.m. with Lloyd Sorenson, student pastor, in charge. Burial was in the Frankville cemetery.
