Edward Willingham, age 74, of Decorah, Iowa, died on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at the Springfield Lutheran Church, rural Decorah, IA, with Rev. Norm Bauer presiding.

Arrangements are with the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah.

Edward was born on January 30th, 1936 at Reed Station Kentucky. Edward grew up in Kentucky and eventually moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he met Inez. They were married in the summer of 1955 and had two sons Guy and Jeff. Edward began his career at Zenith Radio in Chicago, went on to start small business in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and eventually came to Iowa where Ed and Inez managed a dairy farm. The boys went off to college and Ed and Inez retired and traveled, played tennis and enjoyed the “good life”.

Ed was an enthusiastic man who loved life, enjoyed the outdoors and could always be counted to be in a good mood. His life was filled love, laughter and a good joke. He loved the outdoors his hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing tennis, bowling and traveling.

Ed is survived by his wife: Inez Willingham, Two sons: Guy (Patricia) Willingham and Jeffrey Willingham. Two granddaughters: Nicole (Heli) Tanon, Christina (Victor) Soto. Four great grandchildren: Samantha & Elijah Tanon and Giovanni & Sophie Soto. One sister: Maxine Willingham. Three brothers: Dale (Judy) Willingham, Perry (Esther) Willingham and Jerry (Betty) Willingham.
