Marie Riehle, age 87, of Milwaukee, WI, died on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the Alexian Village Nursing Home in Milwaukee, WI following a brief illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2005 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, Iowa with Rev. John Moser. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call on Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, Chekal Chapel in Fort Atkinson, Iowa. There will be a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a scripture service at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Memorials in Marie’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, East Region, P.O. Box 902, Pewaukee, WI 53072 or Mental Health Association, S22 W22660 Broadway, Waukesha, WI 53186.

Marie Mercedes “Molly” McKenna was born on April 3, 1917 to Patrick and Margaret (Mailey) McKenna in Bluffton, Iowa. She attended country school near Bluffton. Marie married Wilfrid Riehle on February 19, 1936 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Bluffton, Iowa. In 1957, Marie and Wilfrid moved their family to Milwaukee, WI. Marie was a homemaker for many years, raising her family. She worked from 1971-81 as a dietary aide at the Milwaukee Catholic Home. Marie was a member of St. Robert’s Catholic Church in Shorewood, Wisconsin.

Marie is survived by her children: Eileen (Robert) Breitsprecher, Independence, IA; Audrey (Robert) Wedo, Postville, IA; David (Carol) Riehle, Slinger, WI; Janice (Joe) Hahn, West Bend, WI; Marjorie MacFarlan, Shorewood, WI; Robert Riehle, Milwaukee, WI; Marilyn Miller, Brookfield, WI; Lea Riehle, Shorewood, WI. One brother: Paul McKenna, Mabel, MN. One sister-in-law: Ann McKenna, Decorah, IA. Marie was the proud grandmother of twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents: Patrick and Margaret McKenna, her husband Wilfrid in 1966; one daughter: Carol Riehle Chesnutt in 1985; one son-in-law: Dan MacFarlan in 1973; three grandsons: Bill Riehle, Joey Hahn and Brian Chesnutt. four brothers: Peter, William, Patrick and Emmett McKenna and her sister: Irene Linnane.
