Jason Peyton, age 25, of Madison, Wisconsin, formerly of Calmar, Iowa died in an auto accident on Sunday, March 6, 2005 near Madison, WI. He died at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Calmar Lutheran Church, Calmar, Iowa with Letha Rogers, from the Calmar Community United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Calmar City Cemetery, Calmar, Iowa.

Friends may call on Wednesday, March 9th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, French Chapel in Calmar, Iowa and after 10:00 a.m. at the church on Thursday morning.

Jason Mark Peyton was born on December 15, 1979 the son of Walter Dean and Dorene (Ruroden) Peyton in West Union, Iowa. Jason was baptized on March 23, 1980 at the West Union Presbyterian Church and confirmed on April 14, 1993 by Rev. Edward Meyer. While in school, Jason was involved in football, wrestling and FFA. He graduated from South Winneshiek High School on May 24, 1998. Jason moved to Prairie du Sac, WI in 1999, where he was a farmhand for Linus Gilding. One of Jason’s dreams was to drive semi and last year in February, that dream came true. Jason drove truck for Fuch’s in Sauk City, Wisconsin. Jason took great pride in his job and loved driving semi. He loved spending time with family, friends, enjoyed life, loved to please people and had a very tender heart. He was a member of the Calmar Community United Methodist Church, where he was involved with UMYF.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents: Dean and Dorene Peyton, Calmar, IA; sister: Robin (Jason) Franck, Prairie du Sac, WI; brother: Jeremy Weiss and Traci Smith, Decorah, IA; A special nephew and niece: Zachary and Ashley Mae Franck; Godmother: Lisa Gerleman, Clermont, IA; Half-brothers: Rick (Becky) Peyton and Roger (Rachel) Peyton, all of Winthrop, IA; Dean Peyton, West Union, IA; Half sisters: Joyce (Dennis) McElree, West Union, IA; DeAnn (Bill) Shafer, Winthrop, IA; Pam (Randy) Langreck, Hawkeye, IA and Laura Peyton, Colfax, IA.

Jason was preceded in death by his Grandparents: Clarion and Ula Hilgerson and Walter and Francis Peyton and his half-brother: Jacob Peyton.
