Dorothy June Halverson, age 73, of Decorah, IA, died on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at the Barthell Eastern Star Home in Decorah, IA.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011, at the Decorah Lutheran Church, with Rev. Wayne Hagen and Rev. Bryan Robertson presiding. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call after 9:00 a.m., at the church on Thursday morning. The Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah is charge of arrangements.

Dorothy’s survivors include her two children: Eric (Cheli) Halverson, Barcelona, Spain and Kathy E. (Jeff) Ellingson, Decorah, IA. Four grandchildren: Erik Halverson, Ben Ellingson, Lars and Tyler Ellingson. Two brothers-in-law: Ed (Anna Mae Baker) Koehn, Mount Vernon, IA and Gordon Halverson, Ankeny, IA. One sister-in-law: Peggy Whitley, Wadena, MN.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Helen (Hughes) Whitley. Her husband: Vernett “Bud” Halverson on April 28, 1996. One sister: Donna Koehn and one brother: James Whitley. Two sisters-in-law: Mary Halverson and Pat (Joe) Wacker.
