Paul was born July 20, 1920 in Bluffton, Iowa to Patrick and Margaret (Mailey) McKenna. He farmed in the Bluffton area for several years, and then worked at the Fillmore County Nursery in Canton, Minnesota. On January 12, 1944 he married Helga Haugen at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Bluffton.

She later passed away. Paul has been a resident at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel since 1986. He was a lifelong member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church.

Paul passed away Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel at the age of 87.

Paul is survived by a son Ron Rewoldt of Cedar Falls, Iowa; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Helga; a son Steven; two sisters Irene and Marie; and four brothers William, Emmett, Patrick, and Peter.

Funeral Mass will be 11:30 AM Monday, March 31, 2008 at the St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Bluffton, Iowa with Father Donald P. Schmitz officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery in Burr Oak, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel is assisting with arrangements.
