Bryan H. Bartelt, age 47, of Mason City, Iowa, formerly of Calmar, Iowa, died on January 25, 2006 at his home from complications of heart failure.

Private family graveside services held on Saturday at Calmar City Cemetery in Calmar, Iowa by Rev. Norman Bauer. Friends may call on Friday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, French Chapel in Calmar.

Bryan Herbert Bartelt was born on December 17, 1958 the son of Robert and Alyce (Olson) Bartelt at the Cresco Hospital in Cresco, Iowa. Bryan attended school at Cresco, until the third grade, then moving with his parents to Calmar. He graduated from South Winn High School in 1977 and while in high school, Bryan enjoyed wrestling. After graduating he moved to California and worked. He later returned to Iowa. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, but he especially enjoyed his nieces and nephews.

Bryan’s survivors include his mother, Alyce Bartelt, Calmar, IA. Three sisters: Karen (Pat) Chavez, San Diego, CA; Darla (Steve) Lennon, Decorah, IA and Brenda Bartelt, Caledonia, MN. Three brothers: Bill (China) Bartelt, El Cajon, CA; Bob (Sandy) Bartelt, Calmar, IA and Kurt Bartelt, San Diego, CA. One brother-in-law: Joe Noia, Caledonia, MN. Thirteen nieces and nephews and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

Bryan was preceded in death by his father, Robert in 1988; one nephew, Coleman in 2005 and his grandparents.
