Terrance J. “Terry” Willford, age 37, of Canton, Minn., died unexpectedly of natural causes Wednesday morning, January 5, 2011, at his parents’ home in Spring Valley.

Terry was born March 26, 1973, in Rochester the son of Jerry and Nancy (Drinkall) Willford.

The family lived in Rochester moving to Spring Valley in 1980. He attended Spring Valley schools until 10th grade and was a 1991 graduate of Lanesboro High School. He than attended NE Iowa Community College in Calmar.

He married Rhonda Vrieze Oct. 7, 1995, in Fountain, Minn. The couple made their home in various parts of SE Minnesota where he worked in the agricultural field. They had resided in Canton since 2004.

Terry enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, other types of hunting, music, guitars, hiking and spending time with his children. He was a member of the United Kennel Club, Root River Valley Houndsmen and the Hiawatha Land Houndsmen.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda; two children, Zachary and Emily at home; his parents, Nancy and Jerry Willford of Spring Valley; one brother, Tom Willford of Spring Valley, Minn.; a sister, Tanya Willford of Spring Valley, Minn.; maternal grandfather, Lyle Drinkall of Chatfield. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandmother.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley with the Rev.’s Dennis Timmerman and Laura Fladten co-officating. There will be a spring burial.

Visitation was held prior to the service at Thauwald Funeral Home in Preston.
