Sylvia Hovey Folsom, 86, of Thornton, Colo., formerly of Decorah, died after a long illness, Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011.

She is survived by her sons Gil Folsom of Golden, Colo., Scott (Joan) Folsom of Arvada, Colo.; one daughter Jill Folsom of Thornton, Colo.; two granddaughters Rebecca and Rachel Folsom of Arvada, Colo.; one brother, Theodore Hovey of Decorah; and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George Folsom, and by her three brothers, Clarence, Ingolf and Walter Hovey.
