Funeral services for Jerome R. Ruffridge, 72, a Pleasant Township farmer, were held Tuesday, June 15, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Locust.
Mr. Ruffridge died Saturday, June 12, at Smith Memorial Hospital following a heart attack.

Pastor Dennis Heifner conducted the funeral services with burial in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Steine Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Maurice Ruffridge, Harold Richert, Emmet Kern, Frank Ruffridge, Arlin Matter and Roy Ruffridge.

Honorary pallbearers were Harold Fisher, Ernest Knoke, Sherman Oyen, Truman Tollefsrud, Palmer Anderson and Frankie Barth.

Organist for the service was Mrs. Ransome Bolson and soloist was Mrs. Arlin Fisher. The floral committee was composed of Mrs. Ruby Johnson, Mrs. Mabel Dehning, Mrs. Raymond Sheridan, Mrs. Robert Cline, Mrs. Ernest Knoke and Mrs. Stanley Matter.

Mr. Ruffridge was born Nov. 27 1892, in Pleasant Township. He was the son of Will and Amelia Ruffridge. He was educated in the rural school at Locust and, on Sept. 7, 1927, he was married to Gertrude Young at St. John’s Church in Locust. She survives him.

A daughter, Erlene, Mrs. Robert and one son, Duane Ruffridge, both of Pleasant Township, also survive.

Mr. Ruffridge spent his entire life in Pleasant Township and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Other survivors include two grandchildren, Carlene and David Fisher.
