Funeral Service for Retired Farmer

Funeral services for Perlie L. Cook of Decorah were held Sunday, Nov. 22 at 1:30 p.m. at Frankville Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Curtis Webster officiating. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Castalia.

He died November 20 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital at the age of 81.

Perlie Cook was born Sept. 24, 1900 in Ossian to William and Emma (Fortcamp) Cook. He attended rural schools of Winneshiek County and was married to Lydia Linderbaum March 10, 1923 in Decorah. He always lived and farmed in the Winneshiek County area until moving to Decorah. He was a member of Frankville Presbyterian Church and the Castalia Historical Society.

He is survived by his wife; three children, LaVerne Cook of Decorah; Merle Cook of Postville and Duane Cook of Decorah; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Lucille Aanas of Stockton, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
