Caroline A. Pfister, Decorah homemaker, died Thursday, Dec. 31 at the Eastern Star Home. She was 98 years of age.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 4 at 11 a.m. at Steine Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Paul Christenson. Burial was in the St. John’s Lutheran Church cemetery at Locust, where she was a member.

Pallbearers were George Pfister, Walter Pfister, Gordon Pfister, Norman Pfister, Donald Pfister and Philip Pfister, Mrs. Ransome Bolson was organist and a trio, Janet Hall, Karol Pfister and Lynn Lamp, sang. Arrangements were made by Steine Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pfister, the former Caroline A. Burmeister, was born April 24, 1883 in Harmony, Minn to William and Mary (Bigalk) Burmeister.

She attended Big Springs rural school, Albert Lea College for Girls and Carlton College.

She married Alvin Pfister June 25, 1903 at Big Springs Church in Harmony.

Mrs. Pfister is survived by four sons and two daughters, Walter Pfister, Rochester, Minn, Elsie Osmundson, Luella Young, George Pfister and Gordon Pfister, all of Decorah and Norman Pfister, of Albert Lea, Minn, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-children, and one great-great-grandchild.

Her husband, her parents and one son, Lester Pfister, preceded her in death.
