Mrs. Hattie Ruffridge, 82, of Locust, died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Knoke. She had been ill for a year.
Funeral services are being held today, Monday, April 17, at l p.m. at the Steine Funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the Locust Lutheran church, with Rev. Carl Losen officiating.

Burial will be in the Locust cemetery.

Pallbearers are Merle Johnson, Ronald Johnson, Norman Ruffridge, Orville Ruffridge, Earl Knoke and Galin Ruffridge.

Hattie Musser was born September 27, 1867, in Winneshiek County. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mikel Musser.

She received her education in the rural schools and spent her entire life in the Locust vicinity. On September 5, 1887, she was married to George Ruffridge at Locust. Nine children were born to this union.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1937. Surviving are the following sons and daughters; Frank, Walter, Arlin, and Viola Ruffridge of Decorah; Chester of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Melvin Johnson of Caledonia; and Mrs. Ernest Knoke, Mabel, route 1. Two sons, John and Edgar preceded her in death.

Also surviving are 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren a brother; Mike Musser of Decorah and a sister, Mrs. Andrew Blegen of Decorah.

Mrs. Ruffridge was a member of the Locust Lutheran church.
