Born June 3, 1905 Died February 15, 1978
Roy J. Bigler of Pleasant Township died February 15 at the Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse at the age of 72. Mr. Bigler had farmed all of his life in Pleasant Township.

Pastor D. D. Thogerson conducted funeral services Saturday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Locust with burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronald Bigler, David Bigler, Harry Bigler, Thomas Otteson, Omar Forde and Robert Wedmann.

Mrs. D. D. Thogerson was organist and accompanied the congregation as they sang hymns. Arrangements were made by Steine Funeral Home.

Roy J. Bigler was born June 3, 1905 in Luana, Ia. to Ernest and Elizabeth Bigler.

The family moved to Winneshiek County where he received his education in the rural schools. He was married December 18, 1934 in Waukon to Esther M. .

Mr. Bigler is survived by his wife; four daughters and a son, Mrs. Bernelle (Mildred) Ramlo, Decorah, Mrs. Gary (Lucille) Brink, Postville, Mrs. David (Janice) Witzke, Minneapolis, Denis Bigler, Pleasant Township and Mrs. Mark (Kristi) Berge, Decorah; nine grandchildren and three brothers, Elmer, Lester and Walter Bigler, all of Decorah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Mr. Bigler was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the N.F.O.
