Funeral services for Mrs. Oline Skaim of Freeport were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church in Decorah. Mrs. Skaim, 81, died Wednesday at the Smith Memorial Hospital.
Burial was in Pontoppidan Cemetery. The Rev. I. Gjelistad conducted the service. The Steine Funeral Home was in charge.
Pallbearers were Leonel Tollefson, Arnold Anderson, Duwayne Anderson, Alvin Anderson, Dick Sutton and Reuben Anderson.
Organist was Mrs. Ransome Bolson. On the floral committee were Arlene Westby, Joann Smith, Marcia Gulrud and Darlene Tollefson.
She was born Oline Underdahl on Oct. 13, 1877, in Norway. She was the daughter of the late Lars and Christina Underdahl.
In 1891 she moved to Minnesota from Norway and when she was 14 she moved to Winneshiek County.
She attended Norway elementary schools.
She was married to Lars Skaim in Winneshiek County on May 22, 1894. On Sept. 23, 1909, she was married to Ben Skaim in Decorah.
She was a member of Pontoppidan Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three sons, Melvin, Joseph and Oscar Skaim of Decorah, and six daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Clara) Anderson, Decorah; Mrs. Carl (Minnie) Gulrud, Madison, Wis.; Mrs. Louise Sutton, Sun Prairie, Wis.; Mrs. Ben (Anna) Anderson, Sun Prairie; Mrs. Leo (Emma) Tollefson, Decorah; and Mrs. Joseph (Lillian) Carlsborg, Waukon.
Other survivors are five brothers, Lars Underdahl, Portland, Ore.; Ole Underdahl, Grand Forks, Neb.; Theodore Underdahl, Cando, N.D.; Andrew Underdahl, La Crosse; and Sigurd Underdahl, Middle River, Minn.
