Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Lois Tieskoetter, age 40, of rural Castalia, Iowa died December 21, 1991 in the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital, Decorah, Iowa after a short illness. Services were held December 24, 1991 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Ossian, Iowa. Special music during the mass was provided by the adult choir of St. Francis de Sales and the Community Singers. Burial was in the St. Francis Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Hemesath, Keith Langreck, Michael Ohl, Joseph Vollmecke, Daniel Langreck, and William Wiltgen. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Art Behrens, Larry Brincks, Donald Brincks, Dennis Linderbaum, Roger Hageman, Ivan Franzen, and Kenneth Lansing.
Lois was born October 21, 1951, the daughter of Leo and Veronica (Schneberger) Luzum. She graduated from South Winneshiek High School in Calmar, Iowa. On August 14, 1971 she married James Tieskoetter at Our Lady of Seven Dolors in Festina, Iowa. They made their home on a farm north of Castalia, Iowa, where they had four daughters and one son. She was a member of the St. Francis de Sales Church, Ossian, a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, St. Francis Rosary Society, the adult choir, and the Community Singers.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, James; 4 daughters, Jennifer Tieskoetter of Rochester, Minnesota and Jamie Tieskoetter, Jaclyn Tieskoetter, and Jill Tieskoetter, all at home; a son, Lance Tieskoetter; 3 sisters, Donna Ohl of Strawberry Point, Iowa, Lynn Luzum of Houston, Minnesota, and Darlene Hoffland of Decorah, Iowa; and 5 brothers, Dennis Luzum, Daniel Luzum, and Loren Luzum, all of Decorah, Iowa, Linus Luzum of Calmar, Iowa and David Luzum of Festina, Iowa.
