Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 14 for Decorah resident Palma Marie Miller, age 73, who died Thursday, February 8, 1990 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The 1:30 p.m. services were held at Decorah Lutheran Church with Pastors James M. Glesne and John Halvorson officiating. Burial was in the Freeport Cemetery. Fjelstul Funeral Home of Decorah was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Jeffrey Ryant, Raymond Severide, Laurice Jagerson, Durwin Sanderson, Norris Youngblood, and Marvin Youngblood.
Palma was born May 31, 1916 in Bluffton Township, Winneshiek County to Peter K. and Inga (Sanderson) Vick. She attended rural Winneshiek County schools. On February 28, 1934 she married Theodore Miller in Decorah. He passed away in 1972. She was a lifetime Decorah area resident. She had worked at the Decorah Produce and was a member of the Decorah Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Ida Barth and Emma Bolson.
Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn (August) Ryant of Waukon, Iowa, a grandson, Jeffrey Ryant of Waukon, Iowa and a sister, Alice Jagerson of Decorah, Iowa.
