Florence C. Smorstad, age 86, of Decorah, Iowa died Friday, November 14, 1986 at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah, Iowa. Services were held Monday, November 17 at 2 p.m. at Decorah Lutheran Church with Pastors Alden H. Hovda and John V. Halvorson officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery with Fjelstul Funeral Home of Decorah in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Duane Flatland, Arnold, Dervin, Gale and Ronald Ludeking and Nathan Onsager.

Florence was born April 24, 1900 in Frankville Township to Jacob and Sophie (Herman) Ludeking. She attended rural Winneshiek county schools. She married Otto L. Smorstad on September 11, 1918 in Decorah, Iowa. He died December 28, 1982. She was a homemaker and a member of the Decorah Lutheran Church and the ALCW. She had lived in the Winneshiek County area all her life.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son Leslie Smorstad, a sister, and a brother.

Surviving are a daughter, Leila Kruger of Decorah, Iowa; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clarence Ludeking of Decorah, Iowa and a sister, Ellen Maloney of Dubuque, Iowa.
