Funeral services for Leo R. Kneeskern were held Thursday, June 4 at 10:30 a.m. in the Frankville Community Presbyterian Church at Frankville, Iowa. The Rev. James Elvig officiated. Schutte Funeral Service of Postville, Iowa was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Frankville Cemetery. Casket bearers were Michael Kneeskern, Ronald Kneeskern, Brian Kneeskern, Paul Kneeskern, Jr., Dennis Kramer, David Kramer, William Kneeskern, Douglas Kramer, and Carl Scheit.

Leo Rolfs Kneeskern, son of William LeRoy and Amelia (Roths) Kneeskern was born in Winneshiek County, Iowa near Frankville, Iowa on October 15, 1908. He died Saturday, May 30, 1987 in the Sun Tower Hospital at El Paso, Texas. He attended the rural schools near his home. On March 28, 1937 he was married to Marie Vollman. He had been employed at the Allamakee-Clayton Rural Electric Cooperative (REC) since 1946 as a construction foreman, retiring in 1973. He had been a resident of El Paso for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marie who died in 1973, 2 sons, Michael Kneeskern and Dennis Kneeskern and a brother Donald Kneeskern.

Surviving are a son Paul Kneeskern of El Paso, Texas, Mrs. Bill (Joyce) Kramer of Monticello, Iowa and Mrs. Dick (Patricia) Scheit of West Branch, Iowa, a daughter-in-law,
Ethel Kneeskern of Bland, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, James Kneeskern of El Paso, Texas, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Ambrose (Hazel) Waters of Postville, Iowa and Mrs. Don (Kathryn) Wisehart of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
