Elaine Marie Klatt, age 66, of Clear Lake, Iowa died Tuesday, November 10, 1987 at a Mason City hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 14 at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake with the Rev. Robert Rod officiating. Burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Hulsing, Marion Warren, Jim Oleson, Tim Petsche, Ray Houdek, and William Jellema.

Elaine was born June 10, 1921 in Castalia, Iowa Winneshiek County to John and Amy (Meyer) Kluss. She graduated from Castalia High School in 1939. She married Harold Klatt on September 21, 1940 in Castalia. The lived in Cresco, Iowa from 1946 to 1953. In 1953 they moved to Clear Lake.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and area bridge clubs. She was also know for making mints for weddings.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Harold of Clear Lake, Iowa; one daughter, Nancy, Mrs. Charles Moritz of Urbandale, Iowa; one son, John Klatt of Norwalk, Iowa and three grandchildren.
