Howard Everett Ellickson, 60, of 7810 Wieneke Circle S.W., died Thursday evening in St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Graveside services; 3 p.m. Monday, Union Prairie Cemetery, Decorah. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Teahen Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; three sons, David and his wife Janelle, Donald and his wife Shelly, and Joel, all of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Denise Palumbo and her husband Doug, and Judy and Lori, all of Cedar Rapids; and two sisters, Virginia Funke and her husband Louis of Cedar Rapids and Norma Arvan and her husband Ted, of Spokane, Wash. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren who knew him as BeBop.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Eli.
Howard was born on Nov. 24, 1931, in Decorah, the son of Ashley and Bertha Ellickson. He married Donna R. Einck on Aug. 30, 1953, in Cedar Rapids. Haward was a retired employee of Penick and Ford, Ltd. He was active in St. Luke's Stroke Club, Penford Retirees and Mercy Stroke Club, Iowa City. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
The Rev. Randy Kasch will officiate. A memorial fund has been established.
