Louis A. Etteldorf, 83, died Tuesday, October 4, 1988. Funeral services were held Friday October 7 at 11 a.m. in St.Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa. Father Edward Lechtenberg was the officiating clergyman. Burial was in the St. Francis De Sales Cemetery in Ossian, Iowa. Hanson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were his nephews Gerald and James Suchan, Michael Ferring, Mike Lovell, Jerry Linderbaum, and Tom Deeney.

Louis was born September 15, 1905 in Ossian, Iowa to Philip and Catherine (Dessel) Etteldorf. He attended St. Francis DeSales School in Ossian. On November 24, 1937 he was united in marriage with Lillian (Deeney) Denning in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa where he was a member. He was a farmer and lived in Ossian and Waukon areas. At the time of his death he was making his home at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon.

His wife, Lillian; two brothers Paul Etteldorf and William Etteldorf; and a sister, Adele Timp preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children Parnell of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Madonna Cook of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and Francis Denning of Riverside, California; a sister Till Suchan of Ossian; 15 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
