David N. Larson, Marion, Iowa and a former resident of Ossian,Iowa, died suddenly on Saturday at St.Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was 48 years old. * This newspaper did not list the date of his death but based on unrelated information on the back of the clipping, his death was probably April 15, 1989*

Services were conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Dean Hoferer and the Rev. Marvin Ehnen. Interment was in the Big Canoe Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Decorah, Iowa, where graveside services were conducted by Rev. Philip Larson.

Mr. Larson was born December 19, 1940 at Decorah to Norman A. and Etheleen (Schweinefus) Larson. He served with the United States Army from 1963-65. On June 4, 1966 he married Marlys (Jacobson) Hovey at Cedar Rapids. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Marion Post #298 of the American Legion, and IBEW Local No. 1362. He was an employee of Rockwell Collins for 23 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-son, Randy Hovey. Survivors include his wife, Marlys; two sons, Mark and Jason, Marion; a step-daughter, Kim Hovey of Fort Collins, Colorado; two grandchildren, Nicole and Miranda; a brother Norman Larson of Omaha, Nebraska; and three sisters, Linda Bakken of Decorah, Iowa, Donna Frey of Hiawatha, Iowa and Beverly Full of Omaha, Nebraska.
