Steven Kipp, a former resident of Festina, Iowa, was killed about 1:05 a.m. Friday in a truck accident at Belfair, Washington. Kipp, age 24, was stationed at Bremerton, Washington. He was on temporary duty with the U.S. Navy at Bangor Submarine Station in Washington.

*Note: This newspaper did not list the date of his birth and it did not list the date of his death. Based on his age, and some unrelated information on the back of the newspaper clipping, his death probably occurred sometime in the first six months of 1989, possibly February or March.*

Services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Festina. Burial will be in the church cemetery. French's Funeral Home in Calmar handled the funeral arrangements.

Survivors include his parents, Duane and Elaine Kipp of Festina; four brothers, Joseph of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Rick and Jeff of Fort Atkinson, Iowa and Randy of Festina; two sisters, Kim Block of Glenville, Minnesota and Jeanie Kipp of Festina; two grandmothers, Leona Kipp of Ossian, and Eunice Brown of Mabel, Minnesota.
