Clarence J. Doubek

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. --- Clarence J. Doubek, 75, of Prairie Du Chien died Friday, June 30, 1989, at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Garrity Funeral Home, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Doubek was a retired road construction contractor in the Calmar, Iowa, area.

He was born on April 2, 1914, in Calmar, son of Joseph and Clara (Hauber) Doubek. He married Arlene Quam on Oct. 6, 1941, in Farmington, Minn.; she survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Clarence Jr., of Phoenix, Ariz., and Joseph and Robert, both of Elgin, Iowa; 11 daughters, Cathryn Guinn and Shirley Durnan, both of Elgin, Norma Fox, Rebecca Voss and Susan Scheffert, all of Phoenix, Clarice Upton of Plainview, Minn., Esther Sticka of Maricopa, Ariz., Sharon Bohr of Cresco, Iowa, Janice Brainard of Monona, Iowa, Theresa Louck of Fredericksburg, Iowa, and Elizabeth Schott of West Union, Iowa; 44 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gladys Sphar of Big Lake, Minn., and Virginia Losen of Decorah, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Fox, Jan. 26, 1984.
