Waukon resident Emmett L. Johnson, 68, died Friday, October 11, 1985 at the Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, October 13, at First Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. John Middents. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, with Martin's Funeral Home handling arrangements.

Pallbearers for the funeral were Steve Pierce, Danny Pahl, Allen Enyart, Loren Johnson, Tim Johnson, and Dale Quass.

Johnson, a radiator repairman, was born in Gays Mills, WI June 3, 1917, a son of Gust and Gunhild (Enerson) Johnson. He attended local schools in Wisconsin and Winneshiek County and married Frances Johnson April 19, 1947 in Winneshiek County, Iowa.

His wife survives as do a son Obert of Decorah; a daughter Judy Petty of Evansdale, Iowa; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Peter (Margaret) Hamre of Decorah and Mrs. Curtis (Helen) Fjelstul of Ridgeway, and a brother Norman Johnson of Postville. He was predeceased by brothers George and Obert.
