Mr. Darrington was born Dec, 22, 1865 in Highland township, the son Joseph and Fanny (Kew) Darrington. He attended the grade school in Highland township. He was engaged in farming in Highland township the greater part of his life. For the past several years he had been a resident of Mabel. He was an honorary member of the Elks Club at Decorah, Ia.

In 1890 he married Emma Bryant, and to this union two children were born, Mrs. Clarence (Ruth) Rolfshus of Mabel, and Byron of Highland township. Mrs. Darrington died April 30, 1896. In 1900 he married Adeline Phister, who preceded him death in 1903.

Survivors are his two children; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

Besides his wives, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mabel; six brothers and four sisters.

Pastor Richard Hartman officiated. Burial was in the Hesper Public Cemetery.

The Mengis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
