Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 2 p.m. at the Mabel United Methodist church for Miss Matie E. Antrim, 94, who died Sunday evening, Aug. 25, at Green Lea Manor nursing home. The Rev. Kevin Baxter will officiated. Burial will be in the Hesper Public cemetery.

She was born June 4, 1891, at Hesper, Ia., the daughter of Levi M. and Kate (Welch) Antrim. She moved to Mabel with her parents in 1899 where she attended school. She was a 1909 graduate of Mabel high school, and attended college in Winona and La Crosse.

She taught rural school in Choice, Lanesboro, Fillmore, Pilot Mound, Newhouse, Minn., and Cashton, Wis. She was a member of the Richland Center high school faculty for 30 years, where she taught junior high mathematics and English. She was also Dean of Girls for several years. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma National Teachers' Sorority. She was a member of the Mabel United Methodist Church.

Survivors are a niece, Mrs. Kathryn Erickson, West Allis, Wis., a nephew, Ray Antrim, St. Paul.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Visitation Tuesday evening at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel.
