Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Esther Johnson, 86, a former Hesper resident, which occurred Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Boulder, Colorado.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 5, at the Christ Drawing Room. Rev Mack Lovvorn of First United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in the Green Mountain Cemetery.

She was born July 27, 1884, at Hesper, Iowa, the daughter of John and Susan (Darrington) Allen. In 1900, she married Fred Johnson at Hesper. In 1909 they moved to Boulder, Colo. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church there.

She survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lucretia Mayhew, Boulder: 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, one son, one daughter, three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
