Here is Sverre's Obituary: Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran church in Caledonia for Sverre Aasum, 79, who died Thursday, Nov. 18, at Caledonia Community hospital where he had been a patient following a stroke. The Rev. K. Roger Johnson officiated. Burial was the Hesper Lutheran cemetery. He was born Feb. 6, 1897 on a farm near Mabel, the son of Ole and Ellen (Selness) Aasum. He was baptized and confirmed at the Hesper Lutheran church and attended Mabel school. On Nov. 9, 1926, he married Emma Skorgen. they farmed in the Mabel area until retiring in 1959 and moving to Spring Grove where theylived for three years before moving to Caledonia. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church there. From the Welch collection.
