Elmer W. F. Meyer

Elmer William Frederick Meyer, son of Charlotte (Meyer) Olson, was born on Sept. 27, 1920 in Iowa. He died at his home in Apache Junction, Ariz. on Saturday, Feb. 20, 1993. He was 72 years old. He was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia, Iowa. He attended the Castalia school.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and also during the Korean War. He lived in Evansdale, Iowa and worked in construction and roofing. On May 22, 1988 he moved to Apache Junction, Ariz.

Surviving are 10 cousins, Madonna Moore, Lorraine Huber, Marlan Meyer, Mardella Hoopman, Loretta Bachelder, Loren Blumhagen, Arthur Meyer, Cloy Meyer, Duane Meyer and Marlys Hager.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, 1993 at the Schutte Funeral home in Postville, the Rev. H. W. Wolfgram officiating. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
