Clarence R. Housker, 77, of Mabel died Friday (April 2, 1993) at Tweeten-Lutheran Health Care Center in Spring Grove. Born Aug. 31, 1915, in Preble Township, Fillmore county, he attended Storlie School. On Sept. 14, 1957, he married Vivian
Aasum at Hesper, Iowa. She died Sept. 2, 1980. Mr. Housker farmed in Preble Township on his family's Century Farm until he moved to Mabel in 1986. He was a member of the Sons of Norway and of Our Saviors's Lutheran Church of Riceford.

Survivors include one sister, Dolores (Mrs. Arnold) Sorenson of La Crescent; and three brothers, Norman and Arnold, both of Spring Grove, and Alton of Harmony. He was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran church, with the Rev. Jerome Diers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Mengis Funeral home in Mabel and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday. From the Welch collection.
