Mrs. Annie Selness 81, widow of the late John N. Selness, passed away Sunday morning, February 24th at the home of her daughter-in-law Mrs. Ida Selness in Hesper. She suffered a stroke July 7, 1951, and was bedridden and helpless ever since that time. The former Annie Aasum, she was born April 5, 1870.

Survivors are two sons; Olaf, Hesper; and Dr. Alfred J. Selness, San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, Norman Selness, Cokato, MN, Alyce Selness, Fayette, Iowa, Mrs. Glen Williams, Morning Sun, Iowa, Lowell Selness, Mabel, Alfred Ross Selness and Carl Hayes Selness, New Orleans, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband and her oldest son, Carl who was killed in an
accident Nov. 20, 1931.

She was a member of the Hesper Lutheran church and the Ladies Aid. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Hesper Lutheran church, Pastor P.C. Hiller officiated. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
