John's Obituary as taken from the Skandinavian, of 19 Nov. 1926, and translated from the original Norwegian.

John Arndt Svenson Tommerdahl, died in his home I Mabel, Minn., of old age.
He was 80 years old and had been ill for the last two years. Funeral services were held at the home and at the Hesper Lutheran church, where the deceased had been a trusted member for 52 years. Pastor Ivar Havneros officiated.

Tommerdahl was born i Leksvik by Trondheim, Norway, 29th Sept., 1846 and was the son of Sven and Ingeborg Tommerdahl. He came to America in 1870 and worked for 4 years, before he purchased a farm in Winneshiek County, Iowa, near Hesper. He lived 20 years on that farm, before he moved into Mabel, where he had lived the last 32 years.

Tommerdahl was married on the 9th of Nov. 1874 to Lise J. Thompson. The couples fiftieth wedding anniversary was two years ago.

The deceased leaves his wife and a foster daughter, Miss Anna, other bereaved family, also two brothers, Simon and Ole in Norway, and one sister Fru Beret Hougen, Norway, and one sister Mrs. Lorense Brenna, of Mabel.
